Some of My Other Work

I'm not trying to come across as any kind of self-proclaimed artist here or anything - I do these sorts of things as hobbies because I find them relaxing. I would absolutely love to someday have the time to take a few courses in painting and drawing, but for now I just mess around and do stuff. When I scanned some of these the light glared off the canvas and/or the sealer I put on the canvas... so the colors look more rich in person. I'll explain each of these a little bit as I post them... but beyond that I just did them for fun. - Annie

Nicholas Brendon This is the first painting that I started experimenting with using just black and white paint to try to understand how to use shade difference to make things looke more real. It's Nicholas Brendon - aka those sexy Xander lips.
This picture of Bob Dylan comes from the liner notes of the bootleg series. I just love all the old 60's photos of Dylan, so I decided to try to paint one. Bob Dylan
Adam Duritz - 'Perfect Blue Buildings' This was my "artisic" assignment for my college Arts class - I made it of Adam Duritz and wanted to represent the song "Perfect Blue Buildings." The photo of Adam was one of him on a street by the effiel tower, and I found both the cliff and the building in a b&w photo book of Ireland and Yeats poems. I thought it went together well, although the glare is the worst on this one.
This is Morrissey from the backside cover of "Your Arsenal." I couldn't exactly get the mouth or eyes right, but I was dang proud of how well his ear turned out. Such little things make me happy, huh? The Big Mozzer
Jason Patrick in The Lost Boys This is from the cover of "The Lost Boys." I love Jason Patrick in that movie - he's so ultra cool and sexy. He's the front runner for making Vampires romanticised in my book. I love this movie anyway.
This is just my imagination with Craypas. I was probably watching Solarbabies when I did this... haha you have to know the movie to get that, and it's connection with the picture above. The colors and everything just so piscify (aka make it even more apparent I'm an Pisces - me and my word-make-up-age) me. Craypas Mountains
Pepper Sleeping I drew this of my baby kitty cat sleeping on the back of the couch. It might be lame, but if you tell me so I'll kick you behind. :-)
